Nigeria Football League Club spokesman, Edwin Eze explained that the players will get thirty percent while officials will receive forty percent of their outstanding sign-on fees before the Super Four. “Rangers have continued to enjoy the support of Government and contrary to what has been erroneously reported in the media, the officials and players are appreciative of what we are doing in Rangers and that is why we are currently on top of Group A of the Premier League with 27 points”, he said. “Our Youth and Sports Commissioner, Barrister Ray Nnaji has personally taken it upon himself to ensure that Rangers remain focused on the task of winning the Super Four. It was his idea that the team embarked on a pre-season tour of Benin Republic as well as the introduction of an enhanced new salary scale for the players and these gestures have yielded massive results”. Rangers have maintained a level of consistency since the season began but the Club has been reportedly enmeshed in internal crisis, bordering largely on funding. “There’s no truth whatsoever in such reports”, said Eze. “Some people just want to stir trouble where none exists because I can tell you authoritatively that we are a united family beyond division by anybody. Our detractors want to create disharmony among the Coaches so as to make them lose focus. There’s also no truth whatsoever in the claims in the media that the Commissioner is intimidating the players and officials. Of what use will such insinuation be to these agitated people?” “These people should just let Rangers be because we have had enough of their antics. Our assurance is that despite what they are doing, we will keep our composure so that at the end of the season, we will be able to put the smiles of all Rangers fans across the country”.
